LESCO New Connection 2026: Real Process, Fees & Delays
Getting a new LESCO connection is a formal three-stage process: you apply, LESCO verifies feasibility, you pay, and then a meter gets installed. Every legitimate application in Punjab goes through one official gateway — the ENC (Electricity New Connection) portal at enc.com.pk — regardless of which DISCO serves your area.

What you need before you start
You’ll need your CNIC, proof of property ownership (registry, Fard, Baynama, or an allotment letter attested by a Notary Public or a Class-1 officer), and — for domestic applicants without an existing meter nearby — a neighbour’s reference number to help LESCO locate your feeder. If you already have any active meter on the property, use that reference number instead. Commercial and industrial applicants need more: NTN/STRN details where applicable, a wiring test report, and depending on load size, additional NOCs.
Why the fee isn’t a fixed number
Several pages online quote one flat rupee figure for a “LESCO connection fee.” That’s misleading. Your Demand Notice amount depends on three separate things: your connection category (domestic, commercial, industrial, agricultural), your sanctioned load in kW, and whether the existing network near your property can support that load without extension. If LESCO needs to add poles or a transformer to reach you, that cost gets added to your DN. Two neighbours applying for the same load can legitimately receive different demand notices if one property sits farther from the existing line. Treat any fixed figure you see online as a rough range, not your actual amount — your real DN will state it exactly.
The actual sequence
- Apply online at enc.com.pk — select LESCO, your sub-division, connection category, and requested load, then upload your documents. You’ll get a tracking ID immediately.
- Site survey — LESCO field staff visit to confirm feeder distance, check your wiring, and assess technical feasibility. This step decides whether network extension charges apply.
- Demand Notice — once approved, LESCO issues an itemised DN covering service charges, meter cost, and a refundable security deposit. Pay only at the bank or channel named on the notice.
- Verification and installation — submit your paid receipt, and once confirmed, LESCO schedules meter installation. Once it’s live, you can start using LESCO online bill check to track your usage from the very first billing cycle.
One safety point
Never pay any amount in cash to a staff member or “agent” claiming they can speed things up. Every legitimate payment happens against your printed Demand Notice, through a bank or the portal’s own payment option. DISCOs can and do reject or cancel applications tied to informal payments or incomplete documentation — there’s no shortcut that holds up later.
Tracking your application
On enc.com.pk, use the Track option, select LESCO, and enter your tracking ID or CNIC. The status shown — submitted, under review, DN issued, or installed — reflects the real backend record, not a guess.
What actually causes delays
It’s rarely the “system.” The two most common causes are incomplete documents (missing attestation, unclear property proof) and feeder capacity issues that trigger a network extension review before a DN can even be issued. Commercial and industrial cases take longer by default because load verification and NOC review involve more departments.
